Hello, my dear friends and happy weekend : ) What an amazing week I had so far! On Wednesday I turned 34. To be honest I don’t like celebrating my birthday. We usually escape for a couple of days in the mountains. And this is absolutely perfect for me. But this year it was different. I was blessed with amazing Birthday boho garden party, that actually was my dream for a long time. Everything was magical and so gorgeously beautiful… And the best part was that I spent these precious moments with my beloved family and closest friends.
Since my hubby’s parents were on a summer holiday this week, they invited us to move in their beautiful house, located outside of the city. As I already mentioned in one of my previous posts, they have a stunning large and green backyard, full of beautiful flowers, shrubs and fruit trees. So that was the perfect moment my boho dream to come true.
Inspired by all the amazing boho gatherings’ photos on Pinterest, I decided to set up a beautiful boho garden party for my Birthday. And I have to say I wouldn’t make it without the great support of my dear hubby! He DIY’d the perfect low table for our boho outdoor dinner. He also never complained about the huge baggage that we had to transfer from our apartment to the house : )
Since I wanted my guests to sit on the floor, I brought some rugs, scarves and cushions for our boho garden party. Those scarves are so precious to me cause we bought them from Bali during our last trip to Southeast Asia. Another one is a special gift from a family friend from the ancient city of Petra, Jordan.
Setting the table has always been a passion for me. I chose these lovely earth tone tablecloths, that I decorated with beautiful outdoor lanterns as well as a jar and a small bottle vase, full of gorgeous flowers from the garden. The twigs of fresh homegrown mint on the plates were a lovely green touch on the table.
One of the bonuses of this beautiful backyard is the amazing vegetable garden. We had plenty of insanely delicious organic vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, colorful cherry tomatoes, eggplants, courgettes, potatoes and fresh herbs like basil, mint, parsley, dill, thyme, etc… They all were so perfect to make the most delicious summer dinner. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to take photos of all dishes and beverages, that I’ve prepared but here are some of them…
Homemade lemonade with fresh mint and lemons. The kiddos absolutely loved it!
Figs, topped with vegan cheese and hemp seeds.
Sourdough bruschetta with creamy cashew cheese, topped with homegrown red, green and yellow cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. One of the total hits of the dinner!
Cucumber mint and lemon infused water.
We also had a super tasty Vegan Caprese salad, roasted chickpeas and yummy eggplants, stuffed with quinoa, mushrooms and veggies. A true summer gorgeousness : ) I didn’t want to make a birthday cake, so as a dessert I prepared vegan brownie and my kid’s favorite homemade watermelon ice cream, topped with shredded coconut and cashews. The perfect combo!
With soft music, candles, good food and my favorite people around me, that was the relaxed summer boho garden party, that I was dreaming for… The highlight of my Birthday party was the outdoor movie night that we threw in the backyard. It was magical. I will share some tips and photos of these beautiful moments in my next post with you : )
